My privacy & user friendly setup [2026]

What I use to protect my privacy that I would actually recommand to everyone to try as it does not requiere a lot of effort to use that instead of the GAFAM and Big Brother stuff !

  1. The OS

  2. Only runs on Google hardware for now, but a Motorola partnership has been officially announced by the team and the OEM. Allow you to have more control over your device, its app permissions and harden security. Allow you to install Sandboxed Google Services as standard apps, meaning Play Store and so on have standard acess to permission unlike stock Android where they have higher privileges. Meaning you get very good compatibility in the profile these services are running. I installed mine in the Private Space, meaning they run only when I unlock it and in a separate user profile. Elsewhere I don't run Google Services on my device.

There is still some incompatibility with some apps and Google Wallet feature are not working, you can use Garmin Pay if you own a compatible Garmin Smartwatch. My banking apps are working fine with Google Services.

Bitcoin(BTC) is the first cryptocurrency. It's ultra secure but not anonymous by default, even if people think so.

Actually it's not private at all since the blockchain is public and that nowadays people uses KYC services while buying crypto. Look at it like the digital-gold. It's more accepted than Monero icon Monero though.

awesome list! you should really consider adding briar and tutanota

Darlene Sonalder

Tuta is mentioned in my email description but I don't really use it yet. I'm not really into e-mail but if I would have to chose a new email provider they would probably be in my top pick alongside posteo.

I don't use Briar, because it's hard to have people using it. And p2p for communication often come with poorer UX in my opinion. I have tested it with a friend, it's a cool project and it got recommended in some of my other lists but it's not part of my daily setup.

Panda008

oh my bad i didn't notice you had tuta on there having ppl switch really is the hardest part. im tripping i kinda forgot this is your setup and not like a recommendation list

Darlene Sonalder

It's a akward mix of both my setup and recommendations. I would tend to recommend SimpleX more than Briar because as I said p2p communication is not a conveniant UX for people used to centralized system such as WhatsApp.
