I love it! /e/ is based on Android (which is actually Open Source software) but stripped of its proprietary code and referrers to Google. There is no Google Play Services coming with /e/ and instead of the Google Play Store there's an alternative app store preinstalled: All Android apps I am using, are just working fine.
The whole thing actually just work as I am used from other Android versions.
/e/ is under active development and suggestions that I made to the developers are carefully listened to.
I am really happy with /e/ as it allows me to make sure that private data and addresses I store on my mobile device are not shared with advertisers. That's what I was looking for since many years.
As far as I know, /e/ is the most complete alternative to Google android because :
If your phone is not compatible and is about to die, you can buy an /e/phone directly on their website
On the good way to become a real alternative to Google Environment.
These are the default apps included in the OS:
All default apps, are privacy focused + opensource
/e/, a new project, is focused on privacy promotion and safety.
Awesome os.
I just love it. It feels like Android, it works like Android, but it one major advantage compared with 'normal' Android: There is no risk that private data like addresses, phones numbers, or your location is shared with any Google servers. /e/ enables you what is pretty rare on mobile phones: You decide just yourself what you do with your data.
The only real unGoogled Android (+ online services) available on the market
