/e/ is a fork of LineageOS that aims to be completely free of everything Google. Not only that, but there are a number of goals the developer has in mind for /e/ that more people feel are vital to a mobile operating system.

I love it! /e/ is based on Android (which is actually Open Source software) but stripped of its proprietary code and referrers to Google. There is no Google Play Services coming with /e/ and instead of the Google Play Store there's an alternative app store preinstalled: All Android apps I am using, are just working fine. The whole thing actually just work as I am used from other Android versions.
/e/ is under active development and suggestions that I made to the developers are carefully listened to.
I am really happy with /e/ as it allows me to make sure that private data and addresses I store on my mobile device are not shared with advertisers. That's what I was looking for since many years.
terrible when it comes to actual security with their outdated updates and unsecure cloud. Recommend graphene instead
/e/ is a Lineage-based distribution with a very specific target: people who are not tech-savvy, who also like iPhone but dislike Apple/proprietary software. /e/ does this very well, and since it's Lineage-based, it's familiar to most people on alternative distributions.
It also includes apps that sync with your Murena account. It's quite nice for newer users!
Works awesome for Motorolla G7 (river). Even NFC. Contact sync / google import works like a charm. Cloud services can be self-hosted at your personal server (no vendor lock-in for specific provider here). Contact sync and cloud services based on Nextcloud. Definitely recommend this project.
/e/ is not just a degooglized android ROM, it is currently showing progress in work that looks like a complete alternative to google services. It has email service (@e.mail), 1GB expandable drive ($25 a year for 20GB), contact wallet, calendar, notes, tasks, photos, a dynamic notebook (like google keep), a cooperative task control deck, bookmarks, RSS feed and an amazing integration with Onlyoffice with documents, spreadsheets and presentations that can be accessed directly from your /e/phone or from an online desktop through a browser . I believe the team's intention is to clone Alphabet with contrary and inverted principles as can be seen in their own logo. I was a few weeks without following the project and when I came back I had all this and I am very excited about the progress. In relation to the ROM specifically, uses MicroG (clone of google libraries) and being based on LineageOS, currently has compatibility (beta) with almost 200 smartphones of various generations beyond stable ROMs for some of them.
It's a LineageOS with greater UI (at least on my Xiaomi Redmi 3S, and in my personal opinion). The declared goal of complete degoogling warms my soul
It is an impressive replacement of the google environement set around your phone & productivity. OS and cloud side.
