Murena releases /e/OS 4.0 with Gmail migration, updated launcher, and Sign & Meet software
Murena has unveiled /e/OS 4.0, the newest release of its open-source, deGoogled Android operating system. This latest version continues to operate entirely without Google apps or services, providing users with a privacy-focused mobile experience.
Building on this update, Blisslauncher, /e/OS' homegrown app launcher, gains a refreshed design. Users can personalize their interface by selecting from a dozen vibrant colors or uploading their own photos for wallpapers. Additionally, two app icons have been updated for a more consistent look.
The updated migration assistant further streamlines onboarding for new users. It now enables importing all contacts, calendars, Google Drive files, and for the first time, Gmail data directly into the Murena Workspace ecosystem.
Murena has also introduced Murena Sign, a digital signature tool supporting PDF, Word, and ODT formats. Fully compliant with eIDAS regulations, it offers free simple signatures, while advanced and qualified options are available with premium plans. These signatures are legally binding and hosted on private servers.
Meanwhile, Murena Meet provides Workspace integration for video meetings, offering end-to-end encryption, screen sharing, calendar syncing, device testing before calls, and background customization. Finally, Murena has expanded its smartphone lineup by launching the affordable GS6 and GS6 Pro devices.
