Comment summary: The Google Play Store receives mixed reviews. Positively, users appreciate features like remote app installation and the vast app selection. However, negative aspects include lack of search and filter options, concerns over app bloatware, ad-focused policies, and mandatory Google+ integration for reviews. Some criticize it for not being open-source and question the quality control of apps. Suggestions include improving app search functionality and reducing unnecessary app store expansions.

I love that you can push apps to your Android device remotely. In my opinion, this is the Android Market's biggest advantage over competitors like the Apple App Store (though Appbrain can sort of do this too). I'd much rather download apps remotely from my desktop computer, than navigate the market from my Nook Color.

A market tolerant of adware is to be avoided. Google is primarily an ad service. Conflict of interest much?

It is NOT necessary to subjugate an android device to a google account!

Support developers outside google play so they may keep all of their profits.

SHUN malware developers. If the app has an add it is both malware and NOT free.

free in the classical sense is without any cost. third party ads are a COST.

Downloads and installation were separate. Read other reviews carefully.

It’s okay,

i wish google would put more time and effort into how apps are sorted and filtered. Google should also put more resources into maintaining a higher tolerance of quality for apps in their store, so as not to have very very basic programs that serve the sole purpose of pushing Advertisements and generating revenue.
