Well beyond a simply repository of notes, it really links ideas together and provides knowledge related. Great software.
Still has a way to go. Editing is not intuitive, and it frequently makes formatting mistakes. I constantly have to open the md files in an external text editor to correct the formatting. I had hoped the Draw.io plugins would work, but alas no. There's no way to create a diagram. Apparently you need to make a diagram externally and link it into your document.
I don't want to question your experience with Obsidian, but
The best app for maintaining a personal knowledge base
Its search is less powerful than in "Keynote NF" or "AllMyNotes". One can set default fonts. Has mind maps which I don't know how to use.
As an avid note-taker and knowledge enthusiast, Obsidian has truly revolutionized the way I capture and organize my thoughts. 🌟
What sets it apart? The Markdown support ensures my notes are clean and readable, the Graph View lets me visualize connections between ideas like never before, and the extensive plugin ecosystem means I can customize Obsidian to fit my unique workflow perfectly. The fact that my notes are stored locally adds an extra layer of security and peace of mind. Plus, with cross-platform support, I can access my notes on any device seamlessly.
If you're looking for a powerful, flexible, and engaging note-taking app, Obsidian is a game-changer. Highly recommended! 💡📝✨
Perfect for more advanced note taking or personal wikis. Can be fairly lightweight or very specialized to your needs by installing plugins.
Almost every action requires installation of third-party plugins, editing and formatting files glitches and you have to restore it on your own through a third-party editor... Also, because of the lack of open source code, I can't trust the developers' statements about the application's security... Almost everything that makes Obsidian cool is the active community of plugin developers, they make the plugin code open source despite the closed code of the application itself... this kind of double standard prevents me from using obsidian quietly...
