No designer can survive in the modern world without the ability to use Photoshop. Great software from a respected company. Also, despite what some may think, having the CC linked saves a ton of time when working across various other Adobe programs.

use it all the time

As much as disgusts me to spend $1800 on one software package (CS5 Design Premium) there just isn't anything even remotely close to as good as Adobe's products. Photoshop is easily 10 years ahead of everything else on the market and worth the cost of admission. If you do any serious design work you simply have to have it.

Are people equally disgusted to pay you for your work product?

The main application is attached to like, 10 other software, all of which are interdependent. CreativeCloud, Adobe desktop Services,CCX Process, AGG, etc.

If that is not bloatware then I don't know what is.

its easy to use and has allot of features that most free programs don't have.

reply

I recently shifted from photoshop to photoviewerpro. Photoshop's features are too complicated for me. I prefer using a user-friendly app.

Updates

It was one of the most functional software ever created. Although the latest update made me worry a bit knowing that it will have you pay more! I really hope I won't or else, I will stay not updating my app!

reply

Adobe is charging you more for the latest update? How much more are they charging you than before?

Adobe was EVERYTHING until the CLOUD

Go and get the last retail version CS6 and stay with it forever.

The cloud prices for Europeans are the extraordinary RIP-OFF

reply

I'm staying with CS5.5 at home (my personal copy) and CS6 at work.

The cloud licensing encourages soft piracy:

purchase a license,
uninstall,
download cracked pirate version

I am use only Photoshop and some other Adobe Apps, because I like the interface and functionality. Other free app haven't some functions, that design can be more better.

I can't afford to use this on my personal PCs (so I go with GIMP), but at work... There really just isn't any alternative (yet) that matches Adobe Photoshop in quality and ubiquity. Even if I skip a generation, it's fairly pricy, but pays for itself in just a few small projects. I'm still rooting for other open source, free or less-expensive alternatives, but for now Adobe Photoshop is the de facto standard for image editing.

I still love Photoshop -- despite the price...

...and it's worth remembering that the earlier versions had some of the very best GUI design in their day.

This is a very good program, I have used Photoshop 7 for years for all of the graphics design that I have done. It has many features that save time. My personal favorite part of this program is the 'actions' feature that it has. Currently I use Gimp, but it does not have actions. If you have the money to buy this program, then I recommend it.

GIMP has had python support for far longer than your comment is old.

There are also many online educating videos for PS like this one http://fixthephoto.com/blog/retouch-tips/best-photoshop-tutorials-on-youtube.html . But it is soooo expensive so i do gimp

I use GIMP on Linux. Best alternative this program to Photoshop..

Hi, My name Andrew, I have been using AlternativeTo.Net for a long period of time, It served me very well and I got a lot of useful information from it, so I decided to make a review on it. As I see you are a user of this website so I would really appreciate some feedback if you don't mind, Thanks. The Website Review - https://bit.ly/2A9YvL1

There is not AlternativeTo Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite in my opinion. There are only other tools that compliment them or make something a little easier. Photoshop is a professional's tool and thus the price tag. Most professionals can make Photoshop pay for itself inside of a week. Worth every penny!
