Affinity Photo vs Adobe Photoshop opinions
Nothing else comes closer for this price range.
I believe, now that it supports Windows, that it's a great alternative to Photoshop. There's a wide variety of features you can find both on Photoshop and Photo, they share most of the key features. Affinity's design is beautiful aswell.
This was my go to image editor for a while when I was using Windows. There's no Linux support however, which is disappointing.
Not all but very close on features, certainly all the most important. Price model absolutely better. Pay once and use it until new version.
Essentially the same functions without any subscription and at a very reasonable price.
It's a shame it doesn't support Linux. I sometimes use Krita and Gimp, but after seeing what Affinity Photo can do, how polished it is, I would buy it instantly if it ran on Linux. :/
It's not as full-featured as Photoshop, but it does a lot of things that PS can do. If you don't need every single feature of PS or can't afford the monthly subscription, it's a very good alternative.
Pixlr® makes it easy to transform everyday images into stunning works of art. Whether you’re applying a quick fix to your photos or adding your personal touch with effects, overlays, or borders, Pixlr has everything you need to make your moments beautiful.
Pixlr vs Adobe Photoshop opinions
The fact that Pixlr is browser based is cool at places like school where you can't just install GIMP.
For simpler uses than Photoshop, it starts and stops much more quickly. If I want a quick edit (say, Crop, Contrast, and Saturation) it goes much more quickly.
You do not need to download a program, you enter from the web.
It is browser based, and once you learn it it is essentially Photoshop.
Easy way to change the image as per the demand.
Photoshop Lite, but is great for simple stuff. Browser based is super nice.
Lighter on features but a lot easier to use. It's web-based, loads easily and doesn't overheat your machine. Has all the basic functionality of PS.
Pixelmator is a powerful, beautiful, and easy to use image editor. Featuring an elegant and streamlined single-window interface, it puts all the focus on the images you edit, rather than what's around them.
Pixelmator vs Adobe Photoshop opinions
For the simple editing I do to get photos ready for email and web, Pixelmator is perfect. It can crop (including constrained cropping), resize, and do all the essential color/brightness/contrast/levels tweaks. And the best feature of all, it has a magical healing brush for removing blemishes.
Considering Photoshop is a ripoff with the subscription crap and Elements is totally unsupported by Adobe and it's a piece of crap, Pixelmator offers a clean interface, powerful tools and it actually works. #adobesucks
Can accomplish nearly all of the functions of Photoshop, while still being cheaper, and more stable
Very intuitive UI for Effects. Impressed with how to apply them on an image, and how to turn a plain image to a professional edited image!

Clip Studio Paint, previously Manga Studio or ComicStudio in Japan, is a family of software applications for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows used for the digital creation of comics and manga.
Clip Studio Paint vs Adobe Photoshop opinions
Far better than photoshop for digital painting
It has pretty similar tools and the results look just as good as in PS
Clip Studio Paint has the best blending tools I've seen so far

MediBang Paint is a lightweight software for illustration and making comic books on Windows and Mac OS.
MediBang Paint vs Adobe Photoshop opinions
It's a wonderful software for painting, not editing photos.
MediBang is used for drawing manga and comic books, NOT editing photos.
