Clean UI, open-source, synchronization with several platforms (Dropbox, Nextcloud, etc.), markdown, mermaid syntax, etc. One of the best note taking app.

- Not locked to Google's cloud services, you can sync with Nextcloud, Dropbox etc. and even to the file system (As a network share, or (what I use because I don't own a server) Syncthing to sync between devices.)

Standard Notes vs Google Keep opinions
3SDDd8g3SN is privacy focused and has a long-term vision
BarnMTBStandard Notes is like a notebook. You write things down and organize them with robust feature. Unlike Google Keep where you just post some sticky notes, usually shorter & less detailed info, onto one big board with basic tagging & barebones organization.
Raghavkrishna823this is the best at encrypting but it does'nt have check list but i use it all the time
Doesn't have basic functionalities such as checklists that make up some of the core functionality of Google Keep

Microsoft OneNote, part of the Microsoft Office Suite, is a digital notebook application that gives people one place to gather notes and information.
Microsoft OneNote vs Google Keep opinions
OneNote is a full and robust application with lots of features, where Keep is pretty basic sticky notes with tags. I came looking for an alternative to Keep and I already know the amount of features in OneNote is too much -- a user looking for simple software that just gets out of the way like Keep does isn't going to enjoy it.
DreadfuldarkOnenote is far better than Google Keep since you can really organize all of your notes. Google keep is just plain and simple sticky notes
BarnMTBGoogle Keep is like a corkboard where you post your sticky notes, and put them out once irrelevant. OneNote is like your notebook where you jot down things.

Even simpler than Keep, WAY less laggy when you have a lot of notes though, better on desktop than Keep is, very easy to switch to
kelsonvA lot, well, simpler than Keep, plus it has cross-platform desktop apps to go along with the web and mobile apps. And if you trust Automattic more than you trust Google, that's a plus as well.
Does not support pictures.

Whether it's bookmarks or passwords, files or shopping lists...Turtl organizes it all and makes it easy to find later. Sync across your devices. Leave nothing behind.
Turtl vs Google Keep opinions
JohnFastmanGoogle Keep invades your privacy; it's one of Google's ways of harvesting your private data: you are the product. The answer is to use encrypted, trustworthy, open source apps. Turtl is such a project. Recent development has been slow, but it's the most similar (to Keep) end-to-end encrypted note-taking app. Protect your privacy!
This is a great safe note-taking app for quick transfer notes. There could be more features added but when I want to safely organize notes on one of my phones to be transferred to other phones or other pcs, or vice versa, this works. It only comes with 50MB storage but if it is just quick notes being stored, that is more than enough space. I only use the free version though. They would have to add a lot more features to make the program worth paying for.
turtl has no web client access event though it's build upon npm/electron.. also has no android widget like google keep
