It works, it is open source and it runs in both windows and linux
Beaver Notes is very streamlined, doesn't hid any features behind paywalls. I find it is very natural to interact with Beaver. I am bothered by the fact there is no way to import notes that aren't from other markdown based notes software...However, it was easy enough for me to copy and paste information into Beaver, getting my note database set-up properly. There was basically no other friction that I experienced in that task. Very much appreciated this smoothness. It's a capable notes app that has supplanted Standard Notes as my new favorite!
it does everything i need it to do! i’ve tried multiple apps and i always come back to this one. clean, simple design without lots of unnecessary features or AI slop i didn’t ask for. i am looking forward to the mobile app!
Cute and modern design note app that does everything that I want better than MS Word and Google Docs combined. Distraction-free environment, great for writing and archiving multiple series. Allow folder categorization and quick renaming, i.e., just click and name or rename, no right–click or double–click. Allows you to change the font for the entire note app (+supports variable fonts such as Roboto Flex). Looks simple but is actually powerful, convenient, and surprisingly lightweight. Highly recommended.

It has a "modern UI". Looks simplistic. Does not have a tree. Supports images. Imports videos with links. Has easy formatting as code or quotations. Can be useful for someone studying whatever needs many images, much code, quotations.
