    • More sluggish interface for my purposes. Also, the parent company is Microsoft. Yuck. JohnFastmanJan 2017 • 8 agrees and 8 disagrees Disagree   Agree
  • Asana icon

    Asana

Asana is the easiest way for teams to track their work so they can get results. It’s free to use, simple to get started, and powerful enough to run your entire business.

    Freemium Web Android iPhone

    • Asana has much more functionality than ToDoIst (e.g. a Kanban board is now included) and is free for teams of up to 15 people. But it's aimed squarely at teams and businesses, not individuals. The closest thing to Asana is perhaps Nozbe, which is at least EU-based and whose Android app doesn't demand constant access to Google Play Services. • WorkFlowy icon

    WorkFlowy

List-making software with infinite levels of indentation, giving you the flexibility of infinite layers of organization.

Freemium Web Android iPhone Android Tablet iPad

    • Workflowy is a good alternative to ToDoIst in that it's more flexible for making hierarchical notes and lists. It's a bad alternative in the sense that it has no parsing or calendaring features. "Meet Jim on Monday" remains as text and is not parsed as a new task scheduled for Monday. • TickTick looks like a ToDoIst knock-off, they have a very vague privacy policy, the parent company is based in Hong Kong, no replies to emails about how they store user data, how long it would take to delete if I cancelled or how they handle credit card info. I wouldn't trust them with any private information. JohnFastmanJan 2017 • 2 agrees and 1 disagrees Disagree   Agree
