Clonezilla is a free software disaster recovery, disk cloning and deployment solution.
You're probably familiar with the popular proprietary commercial package Norton Ghost®. The problem with these kind of software packages is that it takes a lot of time to massively clone systems to many computers. You've probably also heard of Symantec's solution to this problem, Symantec Ghost Corporate Edition® with multicasting. Well, now there is an OpenSource clone system (OCS) solution called Clonezilla with unicasting and multicasting!
Clonezilla, based on DRBL, Partclone and udpcast, allows you to do bare metal backup and recovery. There are two types of Clonezilla available: Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (server edition).
Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore.
Clonezilla SE is for massive deployment, it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously.
Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone efficiency.
GParted is a GTK+ frontend to GNU Parted and the official GNOME Partition Editor application. It is used for creating, deleting, resizing, moving, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. This is useful for creating space for new operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, copying data residing on hard disks and mirroring one partition with another (disk imaging).
GParted is developed on GNU/Linux. It can be used on other operating systems, such as Windows or Mac OS X, by booting from media containing GParted Live, which can be installed on CD, USB, PXE server, and Hard Disk then run on an x86 machine.
The bootable image is called GParted Live and enables all the features of the GParted application.
Apache OpenOffice is a leading open-source office suite that offers free applications for word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, graphics, databases and more. All data is stored in an open standard format, though Open Office can also read and write files from other common office software.
KiCad is an open source software suite for electronic design automation (EDA) - designing schematics of electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCB). KiCad is developed by Jean-Pierre Charras. And features an integrated environment between schematic capture, bill of materials list, and PCB layout.

G'MIC is a full-featured open-source framework for image processing, distributed under the CeCILL free software licenses (LGPL-like and/or GPL-compatible). It provides several different user interfaces to convert / manipulate / filter / visualize generic image datasets, ranging from 1d scalar signals to 3d+t sequences of multi-spectral volumetric images, hence including 2d color images.
Agama materials is software for creating PBR materials and painting 3d models. You can create materials and use them for painting models, or you can use pre-made textures.

Vim ("Vi IMproved") is an advanced text editor that allows syntax highlighting, word completion and has a huge amount of contributed content.
Vim offers several “modes” for editing with efficiency. This makes vim a non-user-friendly application but it is also a strength. The normal mode binds alphanumeric keys to task-oriented commands. The visual mode highlights text. The command-line mode offers more tools (for search&replace, defining functions, etc.)

How does it work? WizTree reads the hard drive's Master File Table (MFT) directly from the disk. The MFT is a special hidden file used by the NTFS file system to keep track of all files and folders on a hard drive. It's very fast because scanning for files this way completely bypasses the operating system (Windows).
Why are some of my drives not selectable? WizTree obtains information by directly scanning the the MFT file, so it can only work with local (directly attached) drives formatted with the NTFS file system. great list but please remove that "openshot" it's trashy when i used it it wasn't lightwate as it was on the function and crashes a lot i offer to try olive video editor simple to use powerfull tool and pretty much lighter then openshot

It's up to users to use whatever they find suitable for them. You can use Openshot, Shotcut, Davinci resolve, Kdenlive or even Olive. That's why I added every editing software that exists as possible, so people can pick whatever they like. If you don't like it, don't use it, but it could be helpful to others.
