Retro Deluxe Paint inspired (GFX) graphics maker / editor (Amiga 500 retro graphics, even the legendary Commodore64)...it does look wierd for modern standards, but it is OK, At least from my point of view.
@hced If you don't know what version to download, why did you give 5 stars? You should give 1 star.
I'm a software programmer, but it drives me crazy when developers do clueless, incompetent things like label their installers and descriptions with inscrutible code and jargon. My position is that nobody should support a project or programmer who does that, because it's clueless and offensive.
I also find pretty consistently, that programmers who do that, can't write software that anyone wants to use.
I strongly suggest that nobody download Grafx2 and that they down vote it as a warning to others.
Beautiful retro interface and a number of really neat tools and effects for pixel art. I recommend it for making character sprites and the like.
It crashes occasionally though.
Is anyone here capable of sharing some rough explanation of the differences between these. They're the ones currently available for download on the webpage and I'm pretty clueless. I should mention I'm on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080ti GPU). Ì prefer portable apps, but other than that, which one do I want?:
Windows installer (win32 API) : grafx2-win32-2.8wip3043.win32.exe Windows portable (win32 API) : grafx2-win32-2.8wip3043-win32.zip Windows installer (SDL API) : grafx2-sdl-2.8wip3043.win32.exe Windows portable (SDL API) : grafx2-sdl-2.8wip3043-win32.zip Windows installer (SDL2 API) : grafx2-sdl2-2.8wip3043.win32.exe Windows portable (SDL2 API) : grafx2-sdl2-2.8wip3043-win32.zip Atari (SDL API) : grafx2-sdl-2.8wip3043-m68k-atari-mint.zip GP2X (SDL API) : grafx2-sdl-2.8wip3043-nottf-gp2x.zip Switch (SDL2 API) : grafx2-sdl2-2.8wip3043-switch.zip
I'd say use the win32 API zip package, if you have problems then try SDL or SDL2.

Really cool, authentic pixel animator. Unfortunately it's very slow on my Mac book. It has plenty of resources for this kind of application, I think it's just more ideal for an older system, or it's just made that way. I was surprised it even ran, as it said Power PC architecture on the website (old Mac processor). I can't use it with such delay unfortunately.
