What is Xprite?

Xprite is a free, open-source pixel art and frame-by-frame animation editor that runs in the browser. It supports drawing tools, layers, animation frames and tags, palettes, and export to PNG, GIF, and sprite sheets.

Users can open and save .ase and .aseprite projects, draw with a mouse, touch, or stylus, and move, resize, combine, or float panels to arrange their workspace. The interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese. Xprite can be installed as a PWA on supported desktop and mobile devices.

Core editing runs locally on the user's device. Browser-saved projects do not automatically sync between devices; downloadable project files provide independent backups.

Xprite is an independent project inspired by Aseprite and LibreSprite, not affiliated with or endorsed by Aseprite or Igara Studio. It is in development, does not run Aseprite scripts or extensions, and does not guarantee compatibility with every Aseprite project.
