Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems
To encourage its adoption, Microsoft announced that during its first year of availability, Windows 10 would be made available free of charge to users of genuine copies of eligible editions of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Backing up stuff is really important and these software makes it easy to do that
Duplicati is a backup client that securely stores encrypted, incremental, compressed backups on local storage, cloud storage services and remote file servers. The Duplicati project was inspired by Duplicity and had similar functionality until 2008. In that year the storage model was redesigned completely and the program was rebuilt from scratch. This manual describes Duplicati 2, the version based on the new storage model.
Duplicati works with standard protocols like FTP, SSH, WebDAV as well as popular services like Microsoft OneDrive, Amazon Cloud Drive & S3, Google Drive, box.com, Mega, hubiC and many others.
Duplicati is free software and open source. You can use Duplicati for free even for commercial purposes. Source code is licensed under LGPL. Duplicati runs under Windows, Linux, MacOS. It requires .NET 4.5 or Mono.
Duplicati was designed for online backups from scratch. It is not only data efficient but also handles network issues nicely. E.g. interrupted backups can be resumed and Duplicati tests the content of backups regularly. That way broken backups on corrupt storage systems can be detected before it’s too late.
Backup files and folders with strong AES-256 encryption. Save space with incremental backups and data deduplication. Run backups on any machine through the web-based interface or via command line interface. Duplicati has a built-in scheduler and auto-updater.
Duplicati uses strong AES-256 encryption to protect your privacy. You can also use GPG to encrypt your backup.
Duplicati is configured by a web interface that runs in any browser (even mobile) and can be accessed - if you like - from anywhere. This also allows to run Duplicati on headless machines like a NAS (network attached storage).

This repository contains a build file to generate FLOSS release binaries of Microsoft's Visual Studio Code - Open Source ("Code - OSS") project, the open source core of the proprietary Visual Studio Code.
Microsoft's downloads of Visual Studio Code are licensed under this not-FLOSS license and contain telemetry/tracking. According to this comment from a Visual Studio Code maintainer:
When we [Microsoft] build Visual Studio Code, we do exactly this. We clone the vscode repository, we lay down a customized product.json that has Microsoft specific functionality (telemetry, gallery, logo, etc.), and then produce a build that we release under our license.
When you clone and build from the vscode repo, none of these endpoints are configured in the default product.json. Therefore, you generate a "clean" build, without the Microsoft customizations, which is by default licensed under the MIT license This repo exists so that you don't have to download+build from source. The build scripts in this repo clone Microsoft's vscode repo, run the build commands, and upload the resulting binaries to GitHub releases. These binaries are licensed under the MIT license. Telemetry is enabled by a build flag which we do not pass.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is it from? OpenBoard was originally forked from Open-Sankoré 2.0, which was itself based on Uniboard. This fork was created to refocus the software on its original core functionalities and values, that is the work of a teacher in a classroom, privileging the ease of use. The evolution of this software will therefore take place in accordance with these core principles.
Cross-platform: Supported platforms are Windows (7+), macOS (10.9+) and Linux (tested on 16.04).
Who is involved? Currently, OpenBoard is maintained by the Education Department (DIP) of the canton of Geneva, in Switzerland. The University of Lausanne, who developped the original Uniboard software in 2003 has joined the effort by means of a logistical and financial contribution. An association project was developed in 2019.
A meeting was held in June 2016 between representatives from the universities of Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, and Geneva; the departments of Education from the cantons of Geneva and Jura; and various institutions from the canton of Vaud (Switzerland) to together reflect on the desired evolution of OpenBoard.

WizTree scans your entire hard drive and shows you which files and folders are using the most disk space. It does this VERY QUICKLY. In fact, we believe WizTree to be the fastest application of this type currently available! Use the information WizTree provides to quickly locate and remove "space hogs" from your hard drive.
- Finds the files and folders using the most space on your hard drive
- Work VERY Fast! We think it's the fastest application of this type in the world!
- Finds the top 1000 largest files on your hard drive
- Sort the contents of your entire hard drive by folder size and optionally delete files and folders
How does it work? WizTree reads the hard drive's Master File Table (MFT) directly from the disk. The MFT is a special hidden file used by the NTFS file system to keep track of all files and folders on a hard drive. It's very fast because scanning for files this way completely bypasses the operating system (Windows).
Why are some of my drives not selectable? WizTree obtains information by directly scanning the the MFT file, so it can only work with local (directly attached) drives formatted with the NTFS file system. It won't work with network drives, substituted drives or non NTFS formatted drives. We may add support for other drive types in the future if there's enough demand.

VeraCrypt is a free and libre source (open source) disk encryption software brought to you by https://www.idrix.fr
• Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk. • Encrypts an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive or hard drive. • Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication). • Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent. • Parallelization and pipelining allow data to be read and written as fast as if the drive was not encrypted. • Encryption can be hardware-accelerated on modern processors. • Provides plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password: Hidden volume (steganography) and hidden operating system. • Multilingual. More than 35 languages. List at https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/code/ci/master/tree/Translations • More information about the features of VeraCrypt may be found in this documentation at https://veracrypt.fr/en/Documentation.html
VeraCrypt is based on TrueCrypt 7.1a at TrueCrypt . In comparison to TrueCrypt, VeraCrypt adds enhanced security to the algorithms used for system and partitions encryption, making it immune to new developments in brute-force attacks.
For example, when the system partition is encrypted, TrueCrypt uses PBKDF2-RIPEMD160 with 1000 iterations whereas in VeraCrypt we use 327670. And for standard containers and other partitions, TrueCrypt uses at most 2000 iterations but VeraCrypt uses 655340 for RIPEMD160 and 500000 iterations for SHA-2 and Whirlpool.
VeraCrypt is licensed with both Apache 2.0 and TrueCrypt 3.0 licenses. Per https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/code/ci/master/tree/License.txt#l24

Developed with the Electron framework, ueli is the type of tool that adopts simplicity, leaving out any unnecessary options and configuration settings. It creates an icon in the system tray at startup, where it sits silently throughout its runtime, without disturbing you with popup messages or reminders like other applications.
Double-clicking the tray icon doesn't do anything. It would've been helpful if ueli displayed the shortcut that can be triggered for bringing up its search window, though, because this isn't obvious without reading the documentation on the developer's website. Press Alt+Spacebar to make searches
You can use Alt+Spacebar to access the ueli search bar, then type the full or partial name of any installed software product or Windows tool (like Windows Media Player or Windows PowerShell). ueli conducts the search operation instantly, creating a list of matches. Also, the hotkey is global, so it works no matter the environment you're currently working in.
Once you've set your eye on the program, all you have to do is launch it. Keep in mind that the mouse cannot be used for making this happen. Instead, you have to navigate the list with the arrow keys and hit Enter to access a program. Easy-to-use app launcher
There are no kind of configuration settings available for this app, and that includes changing the global hotkey for activating the search bar. ueli is simple and straightforward, offering a convenient solution for instantly locating and launching apps.

It differs from other defrag tools on the market, by enabling you to quickly and simply defrag the files you want to, without having to process the whole drive. You can defrag only if the computer is idle for a definable time, so Defraggler does not slow down the computer if you work on more important tasks. Defraggler also lets you defragment multiple drives on the same PC, using different schedules. Defraggler uses the Windows Task Scheduler to enable you to set it for future defragging. Simply tell it how often you want it to defrag a drive (once, daily, weekly or monthly). Then it will go ahead on its own, tirelessly defragging your computer whenever you need it to. You can defragment your main C: drive every night, and your external D: hard drive every week. It's up to you. Simply run it, select the file and defragment in seconds. No more struggling with the Windows defragmentation tool! An original portable version exists, but it is not easy to find: http://www.piriform.com/defraggler/download .

OpenPGP is the most widely used email encryption standard. It is defined by the OpenPGP Working Group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as a Proposed Standard in RFC 4880. OpenPGP was originally derived from the PGP Desktop software, created by Phil Zimmermann.
OpenPGP is a non-proprietary protocol for encrypting email communication using public key cryptography. The OpenPGP protocol defines standard formats for encrypted messages, signatures, and certificates for exchanging public keys.
Beginning in 1997, the OpenPGP Working Group was formed in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to define this standard that had formerly been a proprietary product since 1991. Over the past decade, PGP, and later OpenPGP, has become the standard for nearly all of the world’s encrypted email.
As an IETF Proposed Standard RFC 4880, OpenPGP can be implemented by any company without paying any licensing fees to anyone.
GnuPG allows to encrypt and sign your data and communication, features a versatile key management system as well as access modules for all kinds of public key directories. GnuPG, also known as GPG, is a command line tool with features for easy integration with other applications. A wealth of frontend applications and libraries are available. Version 2 of GnuPG also provides support for S/MIME.

Docker is an open-source engine that automates the deployment of any application as a lightweight, portable, self-sufficient container that will run virtually anywhere.
Docker containers can encapsulate any payload, and will run consistently on and between virtually any server. The same container that a developer builds and tests on a laptop will run at scale, in production*, on VMs, bare-metal servers, OpenStack clusters, public instances, or combinations of the above.
Common use cases for Docker include:
• Automating the packaging and deployment of applications • Creation of lightweight, private PAAS environments • Automated testing and continuous integration/deployment • Deploying and scaling web apps, databases and backend services
Docker is available as Community Edition (CE) for free and an Enterprise Edition (EE) subscription with software, support and certification.

Most of the actions should be obvious. Some not-so-obvious features are listed here:
You can select multiple files or folders, all files will be hashed, directories traversed Double click hash to copy it Double click name or algorithm to copy the line in sumfile format Right click for popup menu: copy hash, copy filename, copy line, copy everything The counters next to the status text is in the format (match/mismatch/nothing to check against/error) Columns sort lexographically, except the hash column which sorts by match type Selecting the tab on a sumfile will interpret it as such and hash the files listed in it. If a hashed file has a sumfile with same filename plus one of the recognized sumfile extensions and the option for it is enabled, the file hash is checked against it.
Algorithms: CRC32 xxHash (XXH32, XXH64) xxHash3 (64 and 128 bit variants) MD4, MD5 RipeMD160 Blake2sp SHA-1 SHA-2 (SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512) SHA-3 (SHA3-224, SHA3-256, SHA3-384, SHA3-512) BLAKE3 KangarooTwelve (264 bit) ParallelHash128 (264 bit) and ParallelHash256 (528 bit)
