It aims at speeding up your workflow and help you write without any interruptions' and is a very popular Text Editor in the File Management category. There are more than 100 alternatives to Zettlr for a variety of platforms, including Mac, Windows, Linux, Online / Web-based and iPhone. The best alternative is Joplin. Dyewall For me, it's more pleasant to write in Zettlr, but other than that Joplin has it's own pros.

Obsidian's editor is definitely more likeable that Zettlr (which has a buggy quality) but it does not support writers for things like exporting and references. Obsidian is really just notes, so it's a better alternative to Evernote.

    3. With so many tools, it's hard to keep everyone on the same page. Notion is a new tool that unifies them all. It's like Google Docs, but everything is organized and discoverable by your team. Real collaboration in real-time.

elzinus BIG PLUS: speed. Zim is very lightweight, simple but highly customizable. Writing is not in markdown, but can be exported in this format. (Zimwiki syntax is also compatible with pandoc, this makes life easy.)

      Mark Text vs Zettlr opinions
Almost everyone thinks Mark Text is a great alternative to Zettlr.
Mark Text is better than almost every other Markdown editor out there because it runs on all major platforms but mostly because it is a true single-pane WYSIWYG editor. No two-panes. You edit directly in your preview text.
