From a developer standpoint, it's been a dream to work with FreeScout. We managed to get rid of our Salesforce account this summer, transitioning our support team to use FreeScout with some custom extensions to tie into our backend systems. Really nice developer experience and our team using it has really enjoyed it too. Not bloated, not overloaded with features, but very well thought out.

FreeScout is easy to install and use. It has enough base features to handle helpdesk emails and you can always extend it by paid addons.

Freescout is fantastic! Minimalistic beautiful UI. Well written source code. I really like the way a ticket can be forwarded to another party. A new ticket is created linked to the first one.

For our non-profit we have been researching so many ticket centers that are open source and self hosted, didn't have to be free, but none really matched. They are so focused on including as much features as possible that they forget about the non-tech staff who need to use it.

Until we came across FreeScout. It is amazing how it feels like a simple modern webmail but still packs a lot of very useful collaboration features. This is great for our support teams who are not tech savvy. The structure is so simple, also on the server side, making it very easy for both admins and tech crew to maintain the FreeScout installation. Also the pricing is nice as you can pay small one-time fees to add specific functionality or you can develop modules yourself. This is great for non-profits where the income can be low and unstable, so you can have those extra services but never have to worry about keeping access when times are rough. And at the same time it keeps the people behind FreeScout motivated to maintain the project.

There are regular updates; they are fast to release a fix when you report a problem. There is public discussion about what can be improved and why not. You can submit your own additions on Github. No need to add a slow outdated plugin to your WordPress. Just have a contact form or even only an email address pointed to your FreeScout mailbox is all you need to integrate it into all your projects. Yeah, we love it.

Super easy out of the box opensource ticketing. I love helpscout and now i am the owner of my data and can develop my own modules :-D

It is a great customer communication tools for teams and there is an amazing community behind it as it is opensource and free!
