Android Apps for iPhone Users making the switch: Privacy & Familiarity

When migrating from iOS to Android, users often need to replace Apple's default app. Google options, while they are offering great UI/UX are usually privacy invasive in a more aggressive manner than Apple ones. And manufeturer ones like Samsung, Xiaomi or others can feel bloated with ads or also privacy invasive.

On this list you will get basic apps that either provide a similar UI/UX that would makes Apple users familiar with quicker than other options. Some might not have that Apple inspired look but still have great UX, strong enough privacy for most people and might be one of the best option to recommand to an ex-iPhone user.

How to Mimic iOS with most Android Launchers

    • Grid and layout: Adjust the desktop grid (rows/columns) to match iOS (typically around 6 rows x 4 columns on many devices, plus dock). Enable features like icon labels (or hide them for a cleaner look) and rounded icon masking.
    • Icons: Use a custom iOS-style icon pack. Pair with the San Francisco (SF Pro) font for text to get very close to iOS typography.
    • Widgets and polish: Add iOS-like widgets via built-in options or pair with KWGT (a separate widget app) for custom clocks, weather, etc., that mimic Apple's style. It supports Material You theming for dynamic colors.
    • App drawer/library: It has a standard drawer you can customize or search-driven access. For closer iOS App Library feel (categorized/swipeable), you may rely on Android's global search or folders. Some experimental modes (like "Deck") help with stacked or alternative views.
    • Gestures and feel: Supports common gestures (swipe up for drawer/recents) that align well with iOS-style navigation on modern Android.

It won't be 100% identical out of the box (no launcher perfectly replicates iOS due to underlying OS differences in notifications, multitasking, etc.), but with some tweaking + icon/widget packs, it delivers a clean, modern iOS-inspired grid, dock, and overall UX without feeling bloated. Community examples exist for iPhone-like setups.
