What is AntennaPod?
AntennaPod gives you access to millions of free and paid podcasts, from independent podcasters to large publishing houses such as the BBC, NPR and CNN. Add, import and export their feeds hassle-free using the iTunes podcast database, OPML files or simple RSS URLs. Save effort, battery power and mobile data usage with powerful automation controls for downloading episodes (filtering episodes, specify times, intervals and WiFi networks) and deleting episodes (based your favourites and delay settings).
But most importantly: Download, stream or queue episodes and enjoy them the way you like with adjustable playback speeds, chapter support and a sleep timer. You can even show your love to the content creators with our Flattr integration.
Made by podcast-enthousiast, AntennaPod is free in all senses of the word: open source, no costs, no ads.

Best in my personal opinion, and being open source plus available on F-Droid is great. Have used it for about 4 years. Nothing else has all the functionality like this app. Backup options for feeds & data, change data storage location, mobile vs wifi download locks (with temporary allow switch), can adjust refresh times to anything or manual or upon launch, lockscreen controls, amoled support, plus a bunch more but I'm tired of typing
Open Source, Design, F-Droid. All
Simple to use (once I got used to it) and has all the good things that a paid app does (neat design/UI/UX & fully featured) without being paid! It was important to me to find an app that:
Thank you AntennaPod!
No grouping functionality
Private, syncs between alternate devices using GPodder. Has all of the customization I need, none of the stuff I don't. Uses podcastindex.org to get the feeds.
AntennaPod runs on Android but not Amazon Alexa, macOS, iOS, or web.
I now use this app most days of the week. It's a quick way to stay informed under my own terms. The MIT license, strong use of standards, and powerful UI ensures that.
