Le logiciel phare de messagerie

about Thunderbird · ·

Mozilla neglects Thunderbird

about Thunderbird · Aug 2014 · 1 Helpful

Thunderbird is a great e-mail program, but unfortunately Mozilla neglects it: it only releases security and stability updates, and only community developes new features.

at least it has got security and stability update... otherwise I would have to rely on ultra slow Microsoft outlook!

Meanwhile, it's july 2015 and the neglect is only getting worse. Basic features like new mail sound and popup don't work and the devs don't give a damn about the bugzilla tickets, their windows debugging server is down so any reports from windows users are unusable (or so I understood) and they don't give a damn, the latest version crashes on startup for no apparent reason and once again they don't give a damn because "it affects a marginal number of users", etc. I'm getting really ** fed up with them because of what they're doing to tb and ff; it's all going down the drain lately. I wish I could find a proper alternative. Claws mail is nice but lacks easy html email handling, inky is too dumbed-down, etc

Páratlanul jó.

Decent, but stagnant

Thunderbird is a good app, but it seems to be stagnating. Mozilla is too busy trying to copycat Chrome and not putting any time into fixing TB bugs.

I like Thunderbird and Evolution.

I like this and Evolution. I can't really say which is better. :/

Neither can I. I cant wait until Elementary's Postler or Yorba's Geary. Both projects seems very interesting, and might make old-school clients like Thunderbird and Evolution obsolete.

I think, today the best E-Mail-Solution with most advantages free of charge is the combination of UNLIMITED AOL Web-Mail Archive (IMAP) with Mozilla Thunderbird as a User Interface, which has nearly all useful features, that the professional commercial product Outlook has.
For detailed Information about 6 disadvantages of Web-GMail compared with Thunderbird or Outlook + AOL mail see: and .
In Addition to this, GMail has the little mistake: GMail filters, which delete mails AND place a label, loose the label: the label is substituted after some days with the empty label "".

I don't use it anymore
