Apple Mail
There’s big news attached. The best way to manage email on a Mac, according to Apple.
What is Apple Mail?
Apple Mail changes the way you interact with your email every day.
Mail displays your messages and open email side by side in a widescreen, two-column view. The favorites bar below the toolbar works much like a bookmarks bar in a web browser, giving you one-click access to your mail folders.
A compact preview of each message — including the first two lines — lets you scan your messages at a glance.
Search suggestions help you find messages even if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. Just start typing whatever you remember — a recipient’s name, part of a subject line, a keyword — and Mail dynamically suggests matches. Search tokens let you refine what you find.
Conversations are a new way to read and manage email that automatically groups messages from the same conversation. Fully compatible with other email applications, Conversations reveals streamlined feeds of messages in chronological order, so you can see how each thread has progressed without having to search for individual messages.
Note: Apple Mail is included in all versions of Mac OS X. It can't be downloaded separately. If you need to reinstall Apple Mail, an installer package for default Apple apps is available in the "Optional Installs" folder of your Mac OS X installation disk.

The best mail app, great design & clean looking. Do not need anything more.
I really like this app on my MacBook for mac, I love the fact that I can use start writing an email on my iPhone and continue on my mac without having to wait for the drafts folder to update. I do thing it isn't as clean and I use other apps on my other machines and so I don't use it as much

Apple Mail is fine for most users. However:
Its nice and very compatible.. its giving a good competition to Gmail.
Here are some little downloads that will make your Apple Mail even better:
If you are using an older version of Mail, and you would like to get the three-column layout found in Lion, then you can install the Letterbox addon.
If you would like Mail to be compatible with Growl, then you can install the GrowlMail addon.
Apple Mail 4 has been giving me headaches with many of my Mac clients. Half of the blame is on the ISPs, but several little interface quirks makes some configurations more difficult that necessary. But, then, I'm just not much of a Mac person, so it's probably just me.
