frisI was using only Libre Office for years on Linux. Now I use FreeOffice and Latex via VS Code the most. FreeOffice is fast and streamlined, the UI is well built and looks good, very compatible with MS proprietary formats. It's also available for several platforms. There's a commercial alternative with more features too if you need support. Just try it.

LibreOffice does basically everything you can do in Microsoft, and it's open source and doesn't constantly try to call home.
Plus, LibreOffice is free.
