Easy to use. Google Suite of products having consistent user experience and possible collaboration makes it powerful.

Privacy issues, huge control, not following standards, and have their own proprietary standards to login to the web mail interface, censorship. Avoid.

G Sites - use only if you are ok with a large UNMOVABLE banner at the bottom of each page advertising g sites and a botton to report abuse. Even if you buy g suite, on g sites you cannot remove this banner. Guessing it is wordpress instead, that security nightmare.

I use Google Apps to host my domain's email for free and the productivity tools make collaboration a snap.

I normally don’t comment on this type of post. I’ve been an CMS admin for over 10 years. I’ve dealt with a number of good CMSs SharePoint, Google Apps, Centralpoint (by Oxcyon) and many others. I got to give credit where credit is due. Centralpoint had us fooled at first because it was such a small vendor but after reading the new Gartner report there is definitely a big change coming, and unification (or centralization) is the future!

What is Google Workspace?

Google Workspace (formerly Google Apps for Work / G Suite) is a collection of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products developed and marketed by Google. It consists of Gmail icon Gmail , Google Contacts icon Google Contacts , Google Calendar icon Google Calendar , Google Meet icon Google Meet and Google Chat icon Google Chat for communication; Google Maps icon Google Maps as web mapping platform; Google Currents icon Google Currents for employee engagement; Google Drive icon Google Drive for storage; and the Google Docs icon Google Docs , Google Sheets icon Google Sheets , Google Slides icon Google Slides , Google Forms icon Google Forms and Google Sites icon Google Sites for content creation and collaboration. An Admin Panel is provided for managing users and services. Depending on edition Google Workspace may also include the digital interactive whiteboard Jamboard icon Jamboard and an option to purchase add-ons such as the telephony service Google Voice icon Google Voice . The education edition adds a learning platform Google Classroom icon Google Classroom and today has the name Workspace for Education.

Google has also integrated advanced AI features, including Gemini and NotebookLM Plus, into its Workspace Business and Enterprise plans. These tools enhance productivity across Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and other platforms by streamlining communication, aiding document creation, and improving meetings. Gemini Advanced offers deeper support for complex tasks and project planning via an app, while NotebookLM Plus provides AI-driven insights to help employees understand complex topics faster.

While most of these services are individually available at no cost to consumers who use their free Google (Gmail) accounts, Google Workspace adds enterprise features such as custom email addresses at a domain (e.g. @yourcompany.com), an option for unlimited Drive storage, additional administrative tools and advanced settings, as well as 24/7 phone and email support.
