Comments and Reviews
Not too bad at all. The free plan is pretty much limited in the number of queries and the complexity of the result, so don't get too comfy. Plus, just as with the competitors, data may not be up-to-date, so effective usage is to do some of your own research and feed that back. The feedback mechanism can take in a lot of text and is good.
The guardrails make it almost unusable except for base things like summarizing and coming up with ideas that are not novel.
Been using Claude for the better part of a year now, mostly for work stuff. A lot of it is greenfield design discussion or picking apart legacy Java services I inherited, plus the occasional postmortem rewrite I'd rather not do from scratch.
Two things genuinely won me over. The long-context behavior actually holds up when you paste in a 4k-line file and ask focused questions about it, where other models I've tried start hallucinating method signatures around the 2k-token mark. And the writing voice is calmer than the alternatives. When I ask for a code review or a doc rewrite I don't get that breathless marketing tone. It just answers the question.
The friction point I keep hitting: rate limits on the Pro plan are tighter than I'd like if I'm in a heads-down session. Twice this month I got cut off mid-debug and had to wait it out or jump over to the API, which sort of defeats the point of paying for the chat product. Anthropic clearly knows about it, but it's the one caveat I bring up when colleagues ask me whether to switch.
Compared to ChatGPT it's a real tradeoff. Claude is better at thinking through a problem, ChatGPT has more tooling. I keep both open.
the best ..period
It's a quite censored on specific topics but it gives good answers on math questions. The UI looks a bit odd too.
What I like about this AI is that it is extremely intelligent and efficient when giving a response. You feel the difference between Claude and other AIs by the effectiveness of its responses while giving you an answer instead of trying to be friendly always as other AIs like Gemini. Extremely good on coding, and great for anything else. It would be perfect if the restrictions for paying were similar as Gemini or ChatGPT, but you can get out of messages if you aren't too careful and you can't even use the cheaper model. You get literally no access.
Claude is awesome for writing documents because of its infinite canvas feature - the ability to keep working on the same canvas without creating a new document each time. Its ethics are good too , you wont find Claude to be a yes-man unlike default ChatGPT. But the rate limits for the free tier are a down point.
