The model is open weights, and people have already estimated that the current api costs are enough to run it, so most likely whatever price deepseek sets, there will be inference providers that host it and offer it cheaper.

DeepSeek earned a lot of attention by offering excellent value for the price, so I'm curious to see how this change plays out. A price increase isn't necessarily a bad thing if the models keep improving, but affordability has been one of DeepSeek's biggest strengths. I'll definitely be comparing the new pricing with the competition once the details are announced.

Just read how the linux mailing list has become unmanageable because of all the ai bug submissions, Linus says. Structures like that are too crucial to let get drowned.

Liked TolariaThis one is big! It basically means Steam will be officially able to install on Android based handhelds, not just the Steam Deck or Windows handhelds. Of course you would still need to install Linux on them first, but it is actually really promising
Between this, the new mesa 26 and the new kernel 7 this couple of months have been really good for linux gamers performance wise.
