Good looking, perfect fit for visually minimalist setups or GNOME, mpv as backend so even if it doesnt exposes many setting in the GUI, is very configurable

Really hope this catches up and becomes more than just viable, I don't like safari that much but it is unmatched for performance and battery with a macbook while on battery, so an equivalent with better customization would be amazing. Tried the beta for a while, and also the v1 release and it just wasn't there, so I guess its time to give it another go.

A lot of knowledge repositories and knowledge processing systems are going to have to take drastic measures like this. If reddit comments fill with slop yeah its bad but whatever, but if important knowledge bases get spammed to the point of the current human systems of validation and verification breaking, that's alarming. Just read how the linux mailing list has become unmanageable because of all the ai bug submissions, Linus says. Structures like that are too crucial to let get drowned.

On the other hand, I know the business revenue is the big pillar of a sustainable service, and I'm glad that proton is moving toward growing that side because I want the to be a relevant player that can stand for the privacy ethos, not just a nobody that will be easily ignored. So I'm just happy that they are also striving to growing an actual...

Lightweight and fast, does what it is supposed to

Privacy services that don't rely on selling data or an endless pool of vc money have to be as efficient as possible with their resources, so while it's sad to see services shut down I think it's for the best that they optimize to avoid carrying the weight of services that don't contribute either to economic sustainability or to the privacy ecosystem by fulfilling their purpose effectively

impressive win for google, stock prices say everything. incredible that the judge really said 'you guys are a horrid monopoly, but you know what, I'm gonna do nothing about it because what if ai is a threat to you...' when google itself is one of the biggest players pushing that very same ai. on the other hand, i think it's somewhat ok overall that mozilla continues to have their paycheck, but i do think a bite in the ass would have been good to finally wake the leadership into really...
