Very much like Microsoft Office and Wordpad combined! Extremely easy to use interface and has no limited features! Best of all FREE! Unlike Micro's BS greed, they want you to pay for a better notepad alternative and there it was just sitting around the corners of the net while many of no-brainers like me had no clue such an amazing thing like Libre exist! Thank you very much Libre! You saved not only our time searching further but also saved our wallets!

Using it to write my novels. Paying for Wordpad isn't necessary as long as I have this software.

Wordpad is too simple compared to Wordpad. I'm looking for a super lightweight word processor like Wordpad for Linux so I can quickly write simple RTF documents when I don't need the features of LibreOffice. LibreOffice has more features but isn't as lightweight and fast.

richarddraucker Suggesting LibreOffice Writer as an alternative to Wordpad is like suggesting a Boeing 787 as an alternative to a Cessna single engine 2 seater.

flcferreira Writer is great for heavy text processing work. But the intention of using Wordpad or something alike is to have a lighter, faster, simpler text processor that is not as simple as Notepad.

    2. With so many tools, it's hard to keep everyone on the same page. Notion is a new tool that unifies them all. It's like Google Docs, but everything is organized and discoverable by your team. Real collaboration in real-time.

flcferreira Notion is a great promise if and only if you are to take the time needed for the learning curve. It is so heavy in features that it does not compare to the simplicity of Wordpad. Notion's thing is to allow the creation of personal databases. Wordpad's thing is to simply write some text that doesn't require heavy editting.

flcferreira It isn't cheap. And it may be heavier to load than Wordpad. Otherwise, it is a great option.

Not lightweight, costs a decent amount of money. In short, not suitable if you only need something comparable to MS Wordpad.

Wordpad comes with Windows, but Word is commercial and has more features than Wordpad. Word may have more features, but is slower, while Wordpad is super lightweight and simple. I'm looking for a lightweight and fast word processor for Linux so I can write quick RTF documents when I don't need the advanced features of a full-fledged word processor, like Wordpad for Windows.

This alternative is disputed. Notepad is still a legitimate alternative to WordPad, but it might have issues that some users think are important.
It's s a text editor, not a RTF editor like Wordpad. If you are looking for an alternative to wordpad, this has nothing to do with it.
