The program leaves me confused. At first it was bringing in Rich Text and inline thumbnails great.. but that somehow stopped. Files are .rtf. You can choose a rich text font and it will work. I understand the program went totally free, so it's not a freemium thing. But now when I paste clippings, it doesn't carry over like it did. I tried both download versions. Support is no longer provided for Jarte. Jarte uses the WordPad engine. My Wordpad rtf pasting also isn't working now. It could be for a number of reasons, but maybe some file mess up occurred. Note that Microsoft is discontinuing Wordpad, and it is possible that programs like this that rely on the Wordpad engine, might not function in future systems.
Jarte is my favourite word processor in Windows. Simple, reliable and lightweight. I only wish a Linux version was available.
You should check out SSuite Office for a free word processor. It has almost all the features of Word, and looks and works the same. {except for the ribbons}. Their word processor is called WordGraph.
It is only 12 MB in size. Nice and small :) . Their software also don't need to run on Java or .NET, like so many open source software, so it makes their software very small and efficient.

I gave that a whirl. It should ask for permission before trying to automatically associate itself with various filetypes. My WinPatrol program picks this up. What's more it persists to try. Looks nice though, and some interesting programs.
