Comments about Delta Chat as an Alternative to Thunderbird
More like an IM, not a full-featured email client.
It doesn't let you read existing email, it's a chat client that uses an IMAP mail server as its back end
Delta chat (as the name also indicates) is for chatting, and it uses email as a backend. This means user will chat as if they are on WhatsApp or etc. but in background DeltaChat communicates via sending and receiving emails.
It's an IM over Email client meant to replace messenger type apps.
