Adobe launches Firefly Generative AI for all Creative Cloud users and raises plan prices

Adobe has finally launched Adobe Firefly Generative AI, a feature first introduced to Adobe Photoshop, for all Adobe Creative Cloud users (not just beta users). This signifies the integration of AI into Creative Cloud, which was used to create over 1 billion assets during its beta phase, highlighting the potential of AI in creative workflows. There are also new AI features for programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, including Text-Based Editing or Enhance Speech for removing noise from voice recordings, and for Adobe After Effects, there's Roto Brush and 3D workspace, which enables users to blend 3D models with 2D graphics to create seamless VFX composites and motion graphics.

Adobe also introduced "Generative Credits", tokens that allow subscribers to convert text prompts into images and vector content in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Adobe Firefly. Generative Credits are included in Creative Cloud, Firefly, and Express paid plans. Subscribers can also buy additional credits via a Firefly subscription plan, starting at $4.99/month for 100 Credits, from November 2023. Adobe will later announce the specifics about the number of credits in different subscription plans.

From November 1, 2023, Adobe will increase the price of Creative Cloud plans that include the new AI capabilities by approximately 10%. This change will affect users in North America, Central America, South America, and Europe. Mobile plans, student and teacher plans, educational institution plans, Acrobat, Stock, Substance, and CC Photography and Express plans will remain unchanged. The price increase for various Creative Cloud plans ranges from $2 to $60 per year or $3 to $7.50 per month, depending on the plan and billing option. Creative Cloud for Teams, Enterprise, and Reseller Plans now include Generative Credits, Adobe Express, and Adobe Firefly.
