Google's Duet AI assistant now integrated with G Suite Apps: features, access, and pricing revealed
Google has revealed that its Google Duet AI assistant will now be part of Google Workspace apps, such as Gmail, Google Meet, Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
Duet AI is capable of various tasks within Google apps. For instance, it can transform outlines into slide decks in Google Docs, and create charts from data in Google Sheets or use image generation in Google Slides. It can also compose email responses, generate images, check grammar, locate items in Google Drive, and summarize documents. It also provides app-specific features, such as AI-based lighting and sound adjustments, custom background generation and live translation in Google Meet, and the ability to directly chat with Duet AI to ask questions about your content, obtain a summary of documents shared in a space, and catch up on missed conversations in Google Chat, which also received a significant update with a refreshed user interface, new shortcuts, and improved search capabilities.
Google revealed that Duet AI feature can be accessed by Workspace users through a separate menu/chatbot within emails and documents. The company has priced Duet access at $30 per user for large organizations, with pricing for smaller teams to be determined. This is comparable to the pricing of Microsoft's AI system, Microsoft Copilot (Windows & 365), the alternative from the Redmond company that offers similar features for the Microsoft 365 Copilot suite and Windows 11.
