Comments about AnyDesk as an Alternative to TeamViewer
Comment summary: AnyDesk is favored over TeamViewer for its speed, ease of use, affordability, and privacy features. Users appreciate AnyDesk's lightweight application, stability, and ability to work without installation. It is praised for being faster and offering a more privacy-friendly experience than TeamViewer. However, criticisms include the lack of an address book and limitations on remote computer lists with the free version. Despite minor issues, many see it as a superior replacement to TeamViewer.

Same uncomplicated and simply working remote desktop application as one day was TeamViewer. And at best: Newer versions can connect to older versions - which TeamViewer always enforced to enforce everybody to upgrade.

No longer free, 14-day trial, nag screens, and a timer. The licence is still cheaper than TeamViewer though.

I prefer using AnyDesk on any other screen-sharing tool, because of the seamless screen-sharing without disconnection or refreshing the connection after a certain period of time, Kudos!

Comments about Chrome Remote Desktop as an Alternative to TeamViewer
Comment summary: Chrome Remote Desktop serves as a free and easy-to-use alternative to TeamViewer, praised for simplicity and basic remote access needs. Users highlight its lack of advanced features compared to TeamViewer, such as remote control of Android devices and unattended access. While Chrome Remote Desktop uses VP8 for improved streaming, it is not considered a full-featured substitute for TeamViewer, particularly for those requiring more comprehensive tools.

Sounds great at first glance. But as always, there is a catch. Yes, the software is open source, but limited in bandwidth, if you want more speed you have to subscribe. And that can cost up to 100 € for 50 Mbps maximum bandwidth per month, 1200,- € or 1346,49 $ per year. Then better use a professional solution like Teamviewer or Anydesk.

UltraViewer supports all Windows versions since XP with its latest update. TeamViewer requires you to purchase a license before you can support older versions of Windows, and then you have to download an older version of TeamViewer, not the latest. Also, if you want the paid version of UltraViewer, it costs a lot less than TeamViewer.

Really awesome for Linux users to remotely connect to their computers through a secure connection. Allows for transmission of audio from the client, and works really well even with slow connections. To summarize: secure by default (because using ssh), good even in low latency, good for presentations, and best alternative to RDP for linux users.

Supports all features of TeamViewer, but with fair license prices and more technical options. i.e. it allows to run your own relay server ("RU Server") in the public internet to connect your "Viewer" with remote PCs (running unattended "Host" or on-demand "Agent") when they are both behind a firewall. (TV always uses its own cloud infrastructure for that purpose)

Straightforward, effective and lightweight, with less mucking about with usernames and things than Teamviewer. Just what I wanted. If I'm running fullscreen (F12 toggles it) then I feel like I'm just working away on my remote PC. I use it to work from my office laptop using my home desktop setup.
