I was able to install MeshCentral server in less than 12 minutes, I'm now able to connect to endless number of computers with less than $5/month. It has remote desktop through browser, file transfer, command line, chat and on-screen notifications. It's really a good replacement for other competitors like TeamViewer and Anydesk. I don't miss them after using MeshCentral. Server generates a file for you that you can send to the client and enjoy fast and easy remote session. Client can also chose to install to allow permanent access. It supports multiple operating systems. Developer is: Ylian Saint-Hilaire.

Free software in every sense
cross platform, web and desktop agent support, easy to use, remote audio.
Well established community developed fully opensource and encrypted remote desktop software, secure (using TLS and quantum computing resistant hash functions) and 2FA, free central server but can host your own. Works great but it's quite slow, the slowest remote desktop software I have tested, even when activating WebRTC (direct peer-to-peer connection) on the host (re-launch the installer and choose Edit config). Client connects from web browser. Cross-platform. Works like TeamViewer (uses UDP hole punching, no need for IP address nor port forwarding). Cannot copy/paste transparently from host to guest. Some hotkeys don't work, it's a bit finicky. Overall, it's a great FOSS alternative to TeamViewer and dwservice, but it's far from being on par in terms of performance nor features. To manage lots of computer, see the companion project TacticalRMM.
Wow! We've been looking for an alternative to TeamViewer. This is it! Bonus - It's web based, runs on Windows or Linux and the agent is incredibly easy to install and manage. There is user and group security and installation is too easy!
Thank You Thank You Thank You! This is the reason the open Source community exists!
While it does not have some of the features of TeamViewer like the ability to reverse the session or copy and paste to the desktop, these are easily worked around. Do yourself a favor before paying big $$$, try it!
