Karabiner is now Karabiner Elements. Very good to remap single keys, also function keys and modifier keys like Fn, Cmd, Opt. Not suitable to remapping keys with hotkeys like: Opt+Ä should be Ö (complicated, has to be coded; this can be handy if some keys are dead because of water damage). For this task BetterTouchTool is perfect. Both tools can be combined. BetterTouchTool can't remap modifiers (Cmd, ...) or multimedia keys. Karabiner Elements works with Mojave.
It does what it says it does and it's free.
I couldn't get it to work. So I'm uninstalling it. Because Mac OS Sierra 10.12 is not still supported.
