What is DropToss?
DropToss is a Windows file transfer app that lets users send photos, videos, audio files, and documents from an iPhone, iPad, or Android device to a Windows PC simply by scanning a QR code.
Nothing needs to be installed on the phone. The transfer page opens directly in the mobile browser, with no account registration, USB cable, or manual IP address configuration required.
DropToss automatically selects an available transfer method based on the network environment:
- Direct local transfer when the phone and PC are connected to the same network
- Direct hotspot transfer by connecting the phone to the Windows PC
- Temporary cloud relay when a direct connection is unavailable
The direct hotspot mode allows file transfers even when no Wi-Fi router or internet connection is available. DropToss guides the user through the connection process by displaying the appropriate QR codes on the PC.
Local and hotspot transfers have no file size limit. Cloud relay transfers support files up to 300 MB.
DropToss also supports automatic file conversion during transfer, including HEIC to JPEG, MOV to MP4, and M4A to MP3.
