Perfect. Its a FOSS version of AirDrop. I don't like apple phones and have been wishing for something like this ever since i've got my macbook. works like a charm on my home network. outside it may need a hotspot or something depending on the place you are on network's firewall rules..
A few days ago everything was fine, but now the files that I send from my PC to my Android-Smartphones are marked as received, but aren’t saved. The App hast the necessary Permission to read all the Data on my Pixel 6A and I checked, that I selected the correct file destination.
Amazing! for android, set battery management to unrestricted to allow background running or it will stop transmitting when not in foreground
Simple and efficient to share stuffes in between my mac and Android phone
Works like a charm
I recently started using LocalSend, and it has completely transformed the way I share files and messages with nearby devices. As a free, open-source, and cross-platform tool, it offers incredible value with a range of impressive features.
First and foremost, the seamless file sharing using peer-to-peer technology is a game changer. I love that I can share files effortlessly without needing an internet connection, relying solely on my local network. This offline functionality is a major plus, especially when working in areas with limited internet access.
The cross-platform compatibility is another standout feature. Whether I'm using Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or iOS, LocalSend works flawlessly across all my devices. The user-friendly interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free.
Privacy and security are top-notch, thanks to the end-to-end encryption that ensures only the intended recipient can access my files. Additionally, the fact that it's open source means there's a community of developers continuously improving the software and maintaining transparency.
Overall, LocalSend is an indispensable tool for anyone looking to simplify and secure their file-sharing process. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient file-sharing solution.
Multiplatform, private, secure and open source airdrop alternative.
