After uTorrent pulling all kinds of crap, I decided to switch over to qBit. It's basically what uTorrent was back in the day. Neither does it have ads and supports wide range of configuration. If you to get as far as you can from commercialism, this is it.

Transmission is an easy-to-use, open source torrent client. It's an excellent alternative to uTorrent because it is open source, which means you can have higher confidence in it not violating your privacy, e.g. through reporting what you're downloading. Transmission is as good an alternative as qBittorrent, but has a simpler interface.

Very lightweight and fast, reliable, similar interface and general user scenarios to µTorrent but ads/adware drama-free, transparent, true open-source.

BiglyBT is a fork of Vuze with the same rich feature set, plugin support (i.e. webtorrent, decentralized chat, and even TOR), and no ad/malware. Being Java based makes it compatible with most platforms, but resource usage is still light, especially with tweaking.

Laggy, bad programming using operating system windows to search metadata for magnets, will kill your system when pasting too many magnets.
