Very clean functional interface. The native UI options work great on different platforms, and having CLI and web access to the same setup is nice too. The core program is fast and reliable. The only downside is it does not support sequential downloading (although there is a patched edition out there that does).
The developers of this have had their software repeatedly hi-jacked by attackers who infect it with malware. After the first time, you think they would have taken the necessary requirements to prevent this happening again. They did not and of course were attacked again. As of now, all they have done is change web hosts. There are so many security improvements they could make to their systems, but they don't. They will not learn and will be infected again.
There was a serious incident several years back yes, but it was fixed quite quickly and the root issue addressed. I have no affiliation with the project, just a user who was affected by the issue and watched carefully to see how it was handled to know whether it was safe to use. If you stick to distro packages and official distribution channels this should not be a problem. If you wander off into unofficial channels or "patched" versions floating around then you are on your own.
Finally, a simple torrent client after using utorrent, bitTorrent and a couple of torrent clients for awhile Now, it's simply the most simple and straightforward torrent clients speed is good, it's open source nonetheless
It's a good torrent client but it's sadly one of those programs that doesn't let you change the display language, it just forces you to use whatever language it detects from your operating system.
It's good other than that, it's missing some of advanced features of qBittorrent but it gets the job done.
Good peace of FOSS that does what it's suppose to!
This has been my BitTorrent client of choice for years. I've started using it on macOS, and now I use it on Linux, and it's still really good. The interface is pretty minimal (which I like), and it has all the features and settings I need. It's free, open source, regularly updated, so it's perfect for me.
Fast and easy, just as their description says. They also don't accept crypto"currencies" as donations, which is a big plus to me.
