Mastodon is a Free and Open Source federated social network, made with a focus on more personal interaction.
Mastodon vs Twitter opinions
Many people are moving to mastodon due to being centralised the Twitter basket with eggs is beginning to crack.
A better version of what Gab was trying to do. Federation is built into its core, so communities of users can be created, but the Fediverse has you covered. Everyone is linked together so long as they don't break the rules. No censorship, good content, and nice people. Great alternative!
A great tool to chat like IRC and Discord, but nothing like a traditional social network like Twitter itself.
I like at as a Twitter replaser because it does te same but better
Free of talking not buried with the algorithms no restriction completely freed.
Mastodon feels like Twitter, but friendlier people without an algorithm, so you don't get addicted to Mastodon.
The connection with other people is greater then anywhere else I’ve been on the internet.
Gab Social is an open source and fully decentralized social network powered by the Gab Platform. It is the new social network of Gab.com. This change was made to further Gab's commitment to its users trust and privacy online.
Gab is less moderated compared to other social networks and could be offensive to some people
Gab vs Twitter opinions
Gab caters more to an alt-right audience, and in no way values the speech of its opponents.
Free. No commercials. No shadow banning or censorship of Views.
It's dominated by far-right racists from the USA. No sufficient Moderation
Its not a twitter alt, just a hate site.
Without censorship. Unfortunately, there is so little people using it.
It's great for free speech and not controlled by big tech.
Gab is a solid social network, whereas twitter and facebook censor information Gab does the opposite, it lets the user decide what is relevant to them and effectively does not treat their user base like five year olds.
We are a free and open-source platform to launch your digital brand, social network and mobile app. We are also a social network ourselves. It is a global social network of social networks. Available in either decentralized or centralized options.
Minds vs Twitter opinions
It'a FB, Twitter and youtube rolled into one.
I can do everything on Minds I can do on Twitter with no censorship!
More like Facebook than Twitter.
Minds is equally secured, zero tolerance to spammers
Got kicked out recently... no reason why, cannot login, password recovery does not work and won't be able to use the same @ if willing to sign up again because it is "already taken". This looks to me like if my account has been stolen in some way a couple of months ago but I am not able to get it back again since help is just not working. Too bad.
some posts are from Minds + Users - to see them you need a Minds + Account, wich is not free.
I have been on Minds.com since the beginning.
Nitter is a free and open-source front-end mirror of Twitter, which allows you to consult Twitter, with a focus on privacy.
Nitter vs Twitter opinions
Not an alternative to Twitter per se, but it allows us to use the same Twitter in a privacy conscious way. Since Twitter still has a lot of good content, we can consider accessing it via Nitter.
It's a good front-end alternative to Twitter, if you like privacy and such. It's not an alternative service to Twitter, as it still connects to Twitter servers.

Misskey vs Twitter opinions
Misskey federated and allows you to host your own service via ActivityPub similar to Mastodon or Pleroma. What Misskey has that others don't is the fully customized dashboards for each instance and the ability to play games and integrate other APIs into your application. The userbase is mostly Japanese but there are more English speaking instances popping up as of late.
Misskey is part of the ActivityPub fediverse. Your service is only one out of many, and you can interact with users running SocialHome, Mastodon, Pleroma, PixelFed, PeerTube and other services, and like and comment on their content. If you don't like how your service is run, you can run your own and still be part of the same networks.
