It’s difficult to compare the two as if you need zip compression and FTP, XYplorer does not have these features. But XYPlorer have a ton of features that Total Commander lacks. XYplorer is a modern file manager with clean interface and very customable - you can have quick access and in tons of way. It’s not a "simple" file explorer and I discover features I did never use before. So, they are files explorer but philosophy is so different that they don’t play the same game.
