    Although YouTube has a lot of content, it's corporate owned (Google), and collects a lot of data about its users. PeerTube is P2P and uses the BitTorrent network.

    There's still good creators on there. But they keep making changes their userbase complains about. It had gotten to the point where I used a bunch of extensions/scripts just for youtube before switching over to third party clients exclusively. Yeah, there's also the privacy issue. But everyone on youtube already knows that.

    Like Bitchute ( and YouTube) you have more freedom of speech (to an extent) and content than with YouTube, but some things that are very extreme/fringe is frowned upon and possibly will be pulled. Still, one of my favorite alternative media apps.
