For combining multiple video platform in one app.
It's not open source even though it's marked as one here. OSI approves licenses as open source based on some criteria. It's not surprising that the license Grayjay is using, "Futo Temporary License," isn't because of the 4th clause: Termination, suspension and variation.
Basically, they can revoke your access to the code at any time and for any reason if they wish to. It should be marked as proprietary instead. (Source available programs are marked as proprietary in AlternativeTo)
This must be the first open source video client where I can sync with my devices. Anything else works great!

Currently, it does not have light mode and picture-in-picture mode.
Being able to combine my feeds off several multimedia platforms is extremely convenient. If you don't want to log in to those services you can simply build a new subscription list including your favorite influencers from any of those platforms.
Currently, there is no true alternative to GrayJay though I hope there will be in the future. Competition is always helpful

This app was supposed to bring a change to the online video platform world and freedom of speech but they've been found out to use AI to filter out "hate speech". So sad! :(
They don't filter out anything. Use your source settings to toggle if you want the age restricted materials or not. It has to interact with media platforms, meaning it has to tell the media platforms which of their own toggles to have set for visibility.
