As of Feb 13th 2019, it has 6314 packages vs 1190 in Npackd. It's built on NuGet which Microsoft created and uses for Visual Studio and PowerShell, so it's as supported as it can possibly be. It's completely scriptable, but there's also Chocolatey GUI if you want a graphical interface.
