Comments about X2Go as an Alternative to NoMachine
badrelmersOn December 21, 2010, NoMachine announced that NX 4.0 would be closed-source. X2go is free and open source. and offer the same options that nomachine gave and more, most important are:
- No need to open up any additional ports in the server. All X2Go traffic is tunneled over the already opened SSH.
- No need to start any daemon in the server to listen. install it and if you have an ssh daemon then you are ready.
- client-side rendering, so server consume very litle resources.
DavidGreat open source alternative, though it doesn't have mobile clients for Android/iPhone.
Though only available for Linux, Remmina is, at its core, like NoMachine in being a screen sharing software solution.
