For those who use Windows I recommend the version released by Muldersoft. It has a neat interface, it's portable, it has advanced hardware acceleration options, and I really liked being able to fast forward or rewind a video smoothly using the arrow keys.

MPlayer is the best video player I have used on Windows so far.

It runs everything very quickly with minimal resource usage.

SMplayer is a good, customizable frontend. VLC is another alternative. But for watching films, I always use MPlayer.

Best player ever, specially in Linux. For the Windows version I would rather recommend using the MPUI interface: MPUI icon MPUI

MPlayer was awesome. It played full hd videos much faster than VLC or Media Player Classic. But now something is wrong. I tried the new version and it crashed on both Windows Vista systems immediately.

But still, this software was very good in comparison, I hope they fix this soon.

Wondered what this was like, running Windows 7 x64bit, first attempt to run this and it crashed - FIRST USE. Uninstalled immediately.
