Now Paint has a File Format which supports Layers when saving. They've been working hard, if weren't the AI it would be perfect!

Paint is good for making cartoon and pixel images. It UI is simple and uncomplicated and it now has layers, a format for saving layers and a number of tools to remove objects or backgrounds. The big problem is the AI is unnecessary and conflicts with the reason most people who use the program do. But if you want to make cute cartoon images, it's good as it comes.

Great for the most minimal image work. Adobe Fireworks is definitely more applicable for my uses. Paint isn't as friendly in many aspects, but it can work if you have the patience to work with it.

Haven't gone a day without opening paint. Notepad and Paint are the best tools of all time.

What is Microsoft Paint?

Paint (formerly Paintbrush) is a simple, ultra-basic graphics painting program that is included with almost all versions of Microsoft Windows. It opens and saves files as Windows bitmap (24-bit, 256 color, 16 color, and monochrome, all with the .bmp extension), JPEG, GIF (without animation or transparency), PNG (without alpha channel), and TIFF (without the multiple pages).
