What is LaSearch?
LaSearch is a private search engine developed for personal devices using Rust and a Svelte frontend. It indexes files directly on your device, removing the need for cloud uploads. It's lightweight, privacy-focused, and uses semantic search technology for accurate results. The software is fast and efficient, delivering results within milliseconds.
LaSearch is located in your device's menu bar and can be activated with a keyboard shortcut. It produces results instantly due to its context and meaning understanding search engine. Users can add sources to index and search, ranging from local folders to a connected Gmail account. Each source is indexed separately, and searches can be filtered to specific sources using the @ symbol.
LaSearch offers real-time results, including filename matching. Users can filter results to specific sources by typing @ followed by the source name. This ensures immediate results without delay.
