What is BeaconFind?

BeaconFind is a desktop search tool for Windows that finds files based on content, not filenames. Users can search by typing a description of the file after pressing Ctrl+K. The app works offline, keeping all files and search data private. It only requires internet for license verification and updates, which can be blocked without affecting the search function.

The tool can search over 70 file types, including PDF, Word, Excel, and more. It also has an image recognition and OCR feature for photos and screenshots, and can search scanned PDFs and text in over 50 languages.

Other features include a hybrid search function, an AI chat, duplicate detection, AI-suggested file renaming, and instant preview for various file types. Users can also manage background indexing with three resource modes.

BeaconFind works on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and downloads its AI models once. The AI model sizes range from 0.8 GB to 6 GB. An optional NVIDIA GPU will be used if available.
