Jing Alternatives

    Jing is described as 'takes a picture or video of the users computer screen and uploads it to the Web or save locally to your computer' and is a well-known app in the Photos & Graphics category. There are more than 100 alternatives to Jing for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Online / Web-based, Linux and Google Chrome. The best alternative is ShareX, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Jing are Greenshot (Freemium, Open Source), LightShot (Free), SimpleScreenRecorder (Free, Open Source) and FastStone Capture (Paid).
