Well, Grooveshark just died today... That was unexpected. I loved it.
Do we have to all go with Small Spotify iconSpotify now ?

reply

I'm afraid so. Either that you could use Small Pandora iconPandora

Spotify is not available in my country. I will be going with Small Deezer iconDeezer

You could always try Small SongRepo iconSongRepo it has free mp3 downloads too.

All SongRepo does is convert YouTube Videos to mp3s using vid2mp3.net. Nothing revolutionary.

Anyway we were talking streaming.

Correct. No need to re-invent the wheel. SongRepo can be more accurately described as a Web Service which brings together certain pre-existing features, and packages them into one, easy-to-use repository. It doesn't need to be revolutionary to be useful.

I would invite you to try out Small Plug.dj iconPlug.dj as an alternative to Grooveshark. lmk what you think! It works in every country and in over 20 languages.

PlugDJ looks pretty cool actually :) I might check it out sometime.

Grooveshark has raised their monthly subscription fee from $3.00 a month to $9.00 a month. Blehhhh. Of course, paying for Grooveshark is optional.

I'm using Grooveshark for 3 days now as as premium member and I really really appeciate it. Sometimes the songs aren't tagged right, but that's ok :) Easy to use and filled with songs!

Great for playing music by specific bands when you want to hear them. I still use last.fm when I want to just let the algorithm do the work for me

No audio ads and no download... All browser based, just quality music and a large archive of tunes to listen to. Icloud makes it an even better experience!

Grooveshark has more music than Last.fm or Spotify. Portable. And the VIP is cooler and less expensive than either. The only thing it doesn't currently have is Last.fm scrobbling.

Grooveshark is way better than Project Playlist

I Love Grooveshark! It's way better (lots more tracks) than Project Playlist (playlist.com), and the user interface puts a lot of others to shame. Don't forget to make custom widgets for your blog or other site!

This is a great site, with more music than Spotify. And this could be used at any computer with an Internet connection, without downloading a client like Spotify.
