Comments about Brave as an Alternative to Google Chrome
Comment summary: Brave is praised for its privacy and security features like an efficient ad-blocker and built-in tracker protection, making it a favorable alternative to Google Chrome. Users appreciate its performance, fast browsing experience, and open-source nature. However, some criticisms include the presence of cryptocurrency integrations and its similarity to other Chromium-based browsers. Comments about Vivaldi as an Alternative to Google Chrome
Comment summary: Vivaldi is frequently praised for its high level of customization, privacy-focused features, and its use of the Chromium engine, allowing compatibility with Chrome extensions. Users commend its built-in tools and user-friendly interface, although some report minor bugs and slower performance compared to Chrome. Overall, Vivaldi appeals to power users seeking more control and a feature-rich browsing experience beyond what Chrome offers.Top Positive CommentSascha SmitVivaldi is a lot more customisable than Chrome, Vivaldi has a lot more features than Chrome, Vivaldi is more privacy focused and it's based on the Blink engine (also known as Chromium) so switching to Vivaldi is very easy + it supports Chrome extensions.
Most Recent Commenteric-scolesVivaldi has made RADICAL performance gains - it used to be much slower than Brave, but now is at least as fast. If I'm open to using a Chromium browser, it's going to be Vivaldi, hands-down. Whether they continue to support older Chrome extensions is an open question (their hand may be forced on that).
laurabrownI like Vivaldi still but I'm looking to switch. It has a couple of small glitchy things that just keep bugging me. One, when I highlight a URL it gets cut off unless I click it a second time. Only Vivaldi does this. Second, opening a new tab is not automatically in the background, or not. I have not found a setting to make them all open in the background. I just have to remember the extra click each time. Small things, but features I use a lot so they become kind of annoying.

Comments about Opera as an Alternative to Google Chrome
Comment summary: Opera is praised for its innovative features like a built-in VPN, ad blocker, and a user-friendly UI, offering a viable alternative to Google Chrome. It is noted for its efficient tab management, light resource usage, and speed, making it suitable for low-end devices. However, some users have privacy concerns due to its ownership by a Chinese company and partial open-source status. Despite that, it remains favored for its non-Google branding and feature set that surpasses Chrome in certain areas.Top Positive CommentRefalmIt's like Chrome. But without the resource hogging and Google crap.
Top Negative CommentLinuxDogeShady. Not more shady than Chrome, but likely as bad.
Most Recent CommentratsniffaTons of features and great UI, but was bought out by a Chinese company, so it might not respect your privacy as much as it seems.

Comments about DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser as an Alternative to Google Chrome
Top Positive CommentdemianmasksI like DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser as an alternative because of how it treats data as it deserve: privacy !
Most Recent CommentbrandirolsenDuck duck go does have a desktop version for Mac now. I am using it now. You must have the mobile version and request the version for your desktop through the settings of your mobile app. It takes a little while but it works well.
TibbeIt is good, but unfortunately only mobile. It depends on the web renderer the system provides, it would be better to my opinion if it used Servo for example.

Brave is an effort to make a Chrome-like experience based on the Chromium code base and remove/block all the spyware Google put in to monitor your online activity. Brave is good, but it's not as good/flexible as Iridium.
